Storage and usage of oil seals

No matter how suitable the design and selection of the oil seal's installation location, it will not function as intended if handled carelessly or assembled improperly. This chapter describes the correct methods for assembling or replacing oil seals. Please read carefully and follow the precautions before using the oil seal.

1... Storage Precautions

When storing oil seals, please note the following:

1) Do not open the packaging when not in use. Otherwise, it may become contaminated with dust or suffer damage.

2) Do not expose to direct sunlight for extended periods.Ultraviolet rays will accelerate the aging of rubber.

3) Do not place in damp locations. Pay special attention to the surrounding metal parts of the oil seal or those with springs, otherwise they may rust.

4) Do not place near high-temperature heat sources such as boilers and furnaces. Heat will accelerate the aging of rubber.

5) Do not hang it with nails, wire, or other similar materials, or thread it onto a rope, as this may cause the oil seal to deform or the lip to be damaged.

6) When storing opened and unused oil seals, take measures to prevent rust, dust, sand, and other foreign matter from adhering or entering.

7) When using or handling oil seals, to prevent deformation or spring detachment, do not subject them to excessive impact.

2... Storage Period

The storage period for oil seals is shown in the table below. The standard for the storage period is as follows.

***The storage periods shown in the table above are for oil-sealed products stored in a warehouse, protected from direct sunlight, high temperatures, and high humidity, and in standard packaging.

***Rust (iron rust) on the metal parts of rubber-bonded products is largely affected by the storage environment and is therefore excluded from this list.

***Before using products stored for extended periods, please check for rust first.

***White powder (emulsification) may appear on the surface of rubber products, but this does not affect their performance.
